Ricky is currently a student at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, pursuing a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. In 2024, they earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in social work from Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont. They have been working in the mental health field ever since, with two years of experience at a group therapy setting for adolescents ages 12 to 18 who struggle with mental health, managing thoughts and behaviors, navigating interpersonal relationships, and substance use addiction.
With a passion for mental health and social justice, Ricky aims to bring these perspectives, along with compassion, empathy, and laughter, to counseling. Additionally, as a transgender/non-binary and queer individual, they can offer their understanding of gender and sexuality to those who seek such support.
They believe therapy is a collaboration between the counselor and client to help the client achieve goals, improve mental health, and feel comfortable processing without fear of judgment. In their counseling, they utilize CBT- and DBT-informed approaches. If Ricky sounds like a good fit for you, please reach out, and they will be happy to connect!
